Frontlit Banner

Mesh
MeshThis material has a mesh-like structure. The structure makes mesh wind-permeable and therefore it's very suitable to use in places where there is a lot of wind. With this material you reduce the chance of the banners tearing or getting blown over. The mesh-like structure also has a disadvantage, the level of detail of the imprint is less good than with other materials from up close (<2 meter). At a larger distance however, you will hardly notice anything. The structure makes the banner see-through at short distance (<1 meter), so it's less suitable as visual barrier.

Frontlit
FontlitFrontlit can be used both indoors and outdoors. It has no mesh-like structure which makes the level of detail better than with mesh. This makes the banner very suitable for e.g. exhibitions. A disadvantage is that a frontlit banner catches much more wind in comparison to a mesh banner. That's why you might not want to use frontlit in places where the banner can catch a lot of wind, such as a long wall of mobile fences with frontlit screens. There is a chance that the entire wall of fences will be blown over and possibly cause damage to the banner and/or third parties.

Speakermesh or soundmesh
Speakermesh of soundmeshSpeakermesh or soundmesh has a mesh-like structure just like ordinary mesh, however the openings are larger so that sound passes through better. On the other hand, the level of detail of the print is slightly lower, but since it's usually viewed from a distance it still seems very good. This material is very suitable for events and festivals, for example to cover the speakers.

ProPES
ProPES is a special material and unique on the market. It looks like a mix of mesh, frontlit and flag material. The print has an even higher level of detail than frontlit. Furthermore, the material is virtually completely wrinkle free and does not crease when folded. There are two types of ProPES: ProPES Outdoor and ProPES FR.

ProPES Outdoor
ProPES OutdoorUnlike other materials, ProPES is made of 225 g/m² polyester, instead of PVC, and is printed with water-based pigment inks. It is not necessary to seam the edges of the banner since it does not fray. The eyelets are made of recycled plastic instead of metal. All this makes this material very environmentally friendly and is therefore suitable if you want to keep your ecological footprint as small as possible. ProPes is weatherproof and can therefore be used outdoors.

ProPES FR
ProPES FRProPES FR is also made from 225 g/m² and is printed with eco-friendly inks. The material is fire retardant and therefore suitable for public areas. ProPES FR and ProPES Outdoor are very similar, but the fire certification is one of the distinguishing features of this material. ProPES FR can be used both indoors and outdoors. Apply it outdoors in short-term applications of up to three months.

2 Ft. x 4 ft. Is a standard size for indoor promotions. This banner is perfect for logo printing at tradeshows or to draw attention to a store shelf for sales and special offers.

3 Ft. x 6 ft. Is the most popular indoor banner size. It's small and portable yet offers substantial space for content. Whether used horizontally or vertically, this size combines visibility and flexibility. If you don't have a wall to hang your banner, you can display it over the front of your table to attract more attention.

4 Ft. x 6 ft. Is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. It's the perfect size to use for visibility in fairs, tradeshows, and conventions. This size is also perfect for store openings, outdoor parties, and support signage for sports teams.

4 Ft. x 8 ft. Banners are perfect for open spaces like fields and parking lots. This size is suitable for drawing attention in large crowds like in festivals and amusement parks.

8 Ft. x 20 ft. Banners are for advertising by the side of buildings, construction sites, and tall fences. This is a great banner size to communicate the opening of a new branch and available properties to rent.

Purpose

The material for any job depends on what the banner will be used for, where it will be located and how it will be viewed, so you need a clear brief. Durability
The right material can make the difference between replacing the banner ahead of schedule or it lasting throughout its planned use. But to make the right choice you need to know which materials are designed to handle the conditions – such as temperature, sun, wind and rain – that it will be exposed to.

Finish
Banner materials come in a choice of gloss and matt finishes, with some satin options. Your choice of finish will affect how the banner looks, affecting both ‘viewability’ and aesthetic appeal.

Printability
Print quality depends on more than just the capability of your printer; the printability of your chosen material is also a critical factor.

Installation
How and where the banner will be installed, and the type of fixture used are all important factors in material selection. Weight should be one consideration. 550gsm has been the traditional weight for a quality banner. It is now feasible to opt for a lighter 440gsm ImagePerfect banner material with no loss of strength, but all the benefits of a lighter material such as ease of installation and lighter, lower-cost suspension systems.

Viewability
Light is an important consideration when selecting materials. Will the banner be front lit for example, or is there a light source behind it that might show through? You need to understand the light sources in the installed environment before choosing your material. With this knowledge, you can determine what level of opacity – the ability of your banner to let light through – is aesthetically acceptable for that job. Opting for a higher opacity product generally makes for a better aesthetic outcome, especially if the banner can be seen from both sides.
